BALANCING ACT: Work and Play
Hello, mga mommies!
Summer is officially over! It’s time to prep the kids back to school mode yet again. But it doesn’t mean they have to leave the summer fun and bonding behind! Too much work can cause too much pressure for your child, so it’s important to insert some room for play here and there. Ngayon pa lang, mahalagang maintindihan na ng mga bata ang meaning ng balanced lifestyle.
Parents should always emphasize the value of hard work and how priorities come in to play. Pag-uwi ni Lucho from school, he changes to his pambahay, then we do homework. When he accomplishes his tasks well, I allow the rest of the time to be his playtime. He usually bakes with me, plays with his sisters, or draws.
For kids to grow holistically, it is our responsibility as parents to give them the opportunities to do so. Tanungin mo kaya si bunso if gusto niya mag-enroll sa taekwondo, mag-ballet, kumanta o kaya naman magluto? Kids consider their studies to be work, so it’s best they get time to unwind from it to relieve any stress.
Play allows your child to discover aspects about him that are vital in forming his identity. Lucho is very creative and outgoing, and I make sure I nurture that. By being present in our children’s lives, we open opportunities for communication which gives us a chance as parents to learn more about our children.
A healthy balance of work and play is important for a memorable and well-rounded childhood that eventually makes for a brighter future. Kaya mga mommies, maging tutok sa studies ng inyong kids pero hayaan din silang maglaro and mag-enjoy para maging 100% panatag mommy ka like me!/p>
