It was really challenging for me noong nagsimula si Yohan maging picky eater. I thought, how can my daughter be nourished when all she eats is one kind of food? At the same time, I was asking myself how hindi siya nagsasawa with her current favorite.
But then, I was able to read articles about kids who are picky eaters and naintindihan ko na si Yohan. Short phase lang pala ang pagiging picky eater. It won't last long. To also help encourage Yohan try other nourishing dishes, I create healthier versions of her favorite food. I cooked Cheesy Corn and Vegetable Cutlets as an alternative to nuggets; Mini Chicken Burgers since favorite ni Yohan ang chicken; and Vegetable Fried Rice since mahilig siya sa fried rice.
Punishments and bribes? They don't work din. Because dapat, we let our kids enjoy mealtimes. We shouldn't be making a big fuss out of the picky eating habit. Mealtimes should be about spending time with your family and enjoying that moment over delicious and nutritious food you love.
