When I was younger, I've never been very fond of fish—mapa-fried man yan or may sauce, isa ang fish sa mga least favorite ko na dishes. Kaya nga si mommy, sobrang hirap sa akin magpakain. Ngayon, I experience the same challenge at home. Si Yohan kasi, hindi rin mahilig sa isda. Mas gusto talaga niya ang pork or chicken meat.
While meats like pork, beef, and chicken are good source of protein, fish meat has unique nutrients like Omega 3 and DHA. Rich ang salmon sa ganito. May fewer fats din ang fish kaya it's really a healthier alternative to red meat. Siyempre knowing all these facts, nag-try kaagad ako ng dishes na out of the usual. Si Yohan, nagsasawa na rin kasi sa puro prito na lang.
I searched the net and got a few good recipe finds: merong Sweet and Sour Fish, Baked Tilapia, Grilled Salmon with Avocado Salsa, at Fish Curry.
Right now na-try ko pa lang gawin yung Grilled Salmon with Avocado Salsa and the Baked Tilapia since I think these are the simplest and the most familiar kay Yohan. We just tried out the Grilled Salmon dish a few days ago actually, and I made sure that Yohan had a glass of Lactum 6+ during our mealtime. I think even if there's still room for improvement with my cooking and with my knowledge on this "healthy meat", I am always assured by my partner Lactum na Yohan is 100% nourished*.
And maybe slowly, Yohan would love fish the way I love it now too!
