What I like most about Sundays is it's really the time na the entire family gets together. So even though our entire week is full - mapa-school man yan o work, we all get to relax and see each other around the dining table, overflowing with healthy meals.
It's over the dining table that we get to share not only those healthy meals I make for my family, but also stories. Sa dami kasi ng ginagawa namin, this is the only time we really get to talk. Not that we don't get to talk at all, pero kung may isang pagkakataon that we are all complete, it's really this time, around the table.
Like the other Sunday, nagkaroon kami ng pagkakataong mag-usap ni Yohan about school. And it was over dinner that I got the chance to probe into how she's doing in class. I think that's typically Pinoy, yung maging open sa isa't isa while having meals.
I think that's one of the reasons why I value food so much, aside from it providing my children with nutrition. Because it really binds people. And as a chef, feeling ko naman ang laki ng role ko in binding my family every time I cook some healthy meals!
